The Stories We Wear

In this interactive, mindful workshop, we’ll take a closer look at a favourite item from our wardrobes and think about everything that has gone into making it part of our lives. We’ll explore where our clothes come from, the memories they collect while we wear them, and what might happen to them when they eventually leave our wardrobes. The session will be a mix of reflection, conversation and making. We’ll use a series of prompts to think about our chosen pieces from different perspectives, share some of our reflections, and then bring everything together through zine-making. You’ll have the opportunity to cut, stick, draw and create your own small zine capturing some of what you’ve explored, which you can take home with you. No prior experience or expertise is needed. Just bring your curiosity and a piece of clothing that you love or wear often. Zine-making materials will be provided.
